Dominating our daily sky view is a glowing mass of hydrogen and helium. Our almost perfectly spherical Sun is the most important star in our solar system and is responsible for Earth's climate, weather, and sea surface changes. Want to safely take a closer look?
Well, here is your chance! Come on up and experience looking at the sun through a special solar telescope. Alex Langoussis, FRAS, will guide you through your discovery and answer any hot questions that arise!
Wear your sun protection, especially at higher elevations!
UV radiation increases the higher you go in elevation. At the highest point in Georgia (4,784 ft), we experience a 15-20% increase in intensity compared to that of Atlanta, GA (1,050 ft.).
Program is free with park entry of $5 per adult, ages 15 & under are free. America the Beautiful passes are accepted.
