Every month this year we will offer a morning "Social Thursday" class with a different speaker and something new to learn about social media. March will be all about taking the best photos from your phone, where to find pictures you can use online and how to ask get permission to use them.
Our speaker, Pamela Keene, is a journalist and photographer specializing in travel, destination and personality profiles. She writes for a number of the state-wide Electric Membership Cooperative magazines in the Southeast -- Georgia Magazine, Carolina (NC) Country, Alabama Living, The Tennessee Magazine, Louisiana Magazine, and Florida Currents, as well as other publications, including St. Marys (GA) Magazine, Gainesville (GA) Times HOME Magazine, Georgia Connector and Lakeside on Lanier.
With a focus on print publications, she often uses her own photography to accompany articles. And in her frequent travels overseas, she often finds herself looking for the most intriguing images to tell the story.
She is also the calendar editor for GEORGIA Magazine, compiling events and seeking photos each month to provide free publicity for towns and communities across the state. In the calendar, getting high-resolution images is always a challenge. She has designed this workshop to assist people with making better photographs that can be used beyond Facebook and social media.
Pam lives in Flowery Branch where she is an avid gardener and boater when she’s not traveling.
