Cherokee storyteller Robert Eldridge will share Pourquoi stories at Mountain Regional Library Wednesday, July 7th at 11 am. Pourquoi tales are fictional stories that explain why something is the way it is, for instance why beaver’s tail is flat or how skunk got his stripes. A take-and-make featuring basket weaving, a Cherokee Syllabary writing activity, and traditional Cherokee recipes will be available to children. Remember to explore the artifacts from the Native American Travel Trunk while you are there.
